Research Directions

  1. Cavity QED with electrons on helium
  2. Quantum memories for superconducting circuits using electron spin ensembles
  3. Topological effects in superconducting circuits

Research Facilities

Brand new lab to be commissioned in January 2011. The lab will have a cryogen free dilution cryostat with high homogeneity magnet and a dedicated electron beam evaporation system. Supporting facilities include optical and electron beam lithography capabilities.

What you will learn:

  1. Experimental quantum computing and cavity QED
  2. Superconducting circuits
  3. Nanofabrication using optical lithography, e-beam lithography, and a variety of other techniques
  4. Microwave measurement and simulation techniques
  5. Cryogenics and low temperature techniques
